Collecting Social Security Survivor's Benefit's?

My grandaughter is 3 years old and her mother was 19 when she died. Her mother did not work a lot due to being young. Isn't there a baseline for the amount of Social Security that my grandaughter can get.

Only the Social Security Administration can answer your questions. Call for an appointment at the local office and prepare copies of all pertinent information for your visit.

It'll be based on the number of work credits she accumulated. your granddaughter can draw this benefit until she's 19 years and 2 months IF she's still in high school.
