Can biscuits from a can be cooked in a microwave oven?
By John Luse from Columbus, GA
No. They will not cook properly. They will never get brown. The microwave isn't good for baking. Try a toaster oven if you don't want to use a regular stove.
Ditto on no to baking items such as biscuits in a microwave!
Yes you can cook biscuits in a microwave, using the defrost setting, test with one biscuit first, cook time depends on microwave. You will see biscuits rise and get fluffy.
You can on defrost but my defrost wasn't working for some reason so I tried for 30 seconds that made it too hard then I tried 15 it worked perfectly, but it depends on the microwave.
I have cooked EVERYTHING in the microwave over the years, including baked biscuits, breads, and cakes. You will not get a brown crust; they will be very moist, like a steamed bread. Just keep the temp setting low (around 30 watts that would be 50% in a small 600 watt micro, or 30% in one around 1000 watts) and watch closely.
Thinking a little time in a lightly oiled fry pan could give the browned crust we want...?

I wouldn't try to cook canned biscuits in the microwave. You could check the maker's web site to find out for sure.
I cook brownies in the microwave. Start with less time and add more because cooking too long makes them harden. They are very good. I just use brownie mix.
