Total Time: 1 hour

Yield: 1 box

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Using an Xacto knife carefully cut along the 2 sides and longest side closest to you so that the box can open at the top with a flap.

Coupon Organizer Made from a Tissue Box - cut top of box to make a flap or lid

  3. Trace the bottom of the tissue box onto cardboard for the base insert and cut out. This cardboard insert will allow your box to be more sturdy.

  5. Optional: I recycled cardboard packaging (very pretty print) that I already have from online orders and cut out to the size of the base. I glued the design to the base for the bottom of the tissue box.

  7. I measured and cut more pieces of the recycled cardboard packaging. Repeat for all the interior sides of the box. I used mini clamps to help secure the pieces for the glue to set faster.
  8. Coupon Organizer Made from a Tissue Box - begin cutting and glueing pieces of the recycled cardboard to the interior sides of the tissue box

Coupon Organizer - glue on one end of inside of tissue box

    Coupon Organizer - interior covered

  9. I ripped the clear flap off and put on more of the leftover floral packaging. In this area you can write something or put your name.
  10. Coupon Organizer - remove the clear plastic on the top of the box

Coupon Organizer - cover the opening with more of the packaging

  11. To hide the edges/seams, I used sticker ribbon around and some cardboard stickers I have as decorative accents.

  13. You can leave the box as is, or complete it as your own organizer. I used cardstock paper and measured the length I want my dividers to be. Then, I took a piece of paper and folded to fit in the box vertically.
  14. Coupon Organizer - folded cardstock for back to front divider to create two areas in box

  15. Then secure the flaps with glue. Measure out more cardstock as your dividers. For the divider labels, I stuck white labels together.
  16. Coupon Organizer - divider label made from cardstock

Coupon Organizer - white cardstock label for divider from back

Coupon Organizer - glue divider flaps in place

Coupon Organizer - dividers to use in larger area of box

  17. You are now ready to organize your coupons, or recipe cards, etc., however you decide to use your box.
  18. Coupon Organizer - looking down to see two separate compartments in the box

Coupon Organizer - closed, finished box
