Try mixing breakfast cereal with yogurt instead of milk for a nice change. I like to even match up flavors, the caramel pecan cereals mixed with caramel or vanilla yogurt is one of my favorites. It's even good with the plain yogurt, plus you also get the benefit of the good bacteria from it.

  • 1/3 cup yogurt, flavor of choice
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • granola of choice
  • assorted fresh fruits, bite size pieces

Mix yogurt and brown sugar in one small bowl and place granola in another small bowl. Serve both with fruit for dipping first in yogurt and then dipping in granola.

If you want to be fancy you can serve yogurt and granola in nice bowls placed on a large platter with fruit arranged around them and cocktail forks or sculpted toothpicks.

Source: Came across this fruit dip recipe a few days ago and had some granola cereal in the cabinet so thought to give it a try as a "topping". I personally like vanilla yogurt. ;-)

My favorite breakfast is:

Boil the noodles and seasoning package; poach egg in broth during last couple of minutes of cooking. Put as much kim chee (a Korean pickled cabbage) as you like in a bowl, pour soup, noodles, and egg over. Yummy!

I have a 101 year old friend who passed this idea down to several generations. When she was a teenager, their basketball team got stranded in a snow storm in Iowa. The farmer's wife, where they stayed overnight, served breakfast of waffles, polish sausage, and sauerkraut. You will be surprised how good it tastes with the sweet syrup all on the same plate. I always serve it that way and have had a lot of compliments.
