Finding the Value of The New Educator Encyclopedias?

cover page and opposing page with photo
Most Encyclopaedias are not worth much as they were mass produced and distributed. However, if you have a particularly old or rare set on Encyclopaedias, they may have some value for a collector. This is a page about value of the New Educator Encyclopaedia 1948.

I have the first 5 volumes of the New Popular Educator, printed in 1895. They are hardback and in fair condition. What value are they likely to have?

Many times old books such as yours are sold at auction individually. They can also be sold as set. What will determine the value of these books is the condition of the cover and pages inside the book. Plus, it also depends on popularity and demand. If collectors are interested in purchasing these types of book and if they are highly sought after.

Your set is incomplete and missing a few of the volumes. I don't find any listing for these books or a price I could offer you on the value. The only way to find out the value of these books is to visit an antique book dealer in your area. Have them appraise the books for you. This will give you an idea of how much they are worth.

They are not worth much. Antique books (over 100 years old) are worth more.

Because they aren't 100 years old yet, put them up on eBay and Craigslist for $40 or best offer.

Unfortunately, these books aren't worth much at all. You might end up with $20 to $30 if you can find a buyer to take them from you. You'll need to sell them locally because of the cost to ship them.

Any book less than 100+ years old doesn't bring a high resale value to you.

It is a 1943 edition, editors are Ellsworth Foster and Karl Goodwin; 7 other contributors from Universities throughout Canada. It is a full set of 10 in good to very good condition.

Any idea of value?

Since it is not an antique, it is probably not worth much.

As long as this isn't 100+ years old the value is not very much. You could probably ask around $10 for this book, but I personally don't think you'll even get this much for it.

Today all this information is online and this makes these types of book worthless and nobody will buy them.
