Finding the Value of an Old Vinyl Doll?

I have old doll and can't find a price for it anywhere. It is a vinyl doll; an old lady with glass on. I've looked everywhere.
Can you help me?

You need to undress the doll and look for identifying marks. These marks can appear on the back, neck, and bottom of feet. Once you know that, you can identify it and learn its value.

If you have not found any markings/names/numbers on her back or neck it will be very difficult for anyone other than a doll collector to help you.

  • Someone may be able to provide a little more information if you submit two or three photos of your doll (and measurements help).
  • There are some sites on google that offer free (and some costly) information/appraisals so you may have to go to something like that.
  • There is a doll "expert" on eBay that does appraisals and charges $4.00 which is a good deal. I do not know this person but she has very good reviews.
  • Here is a link if you want to check it out.

Basically the only real way to identify a doll is from markings found on the doll. They can be on the body, feet or back of the neck. If you can't find anything this makes it so much harder to identify the doll.

If you have an auction house in your area for antiques, you can try taking the doll there. They normally have experts at these places that are willing to look at the doll and tell you the value of the doll.

Is it by any chance a Mrs Beasley Doll? This is a pretty famous 'grandma with glasses' vinyl doll from the 60s that came out due to a TV show

you can compare a picture found in the link here www.ashtondrake.com/.../327614001_family-affair-talking-mrs...

in good condition i saw these on ebay for as much as $250

It would be nice if your doll was a Mrs. Beasley but you said you had a "vinyl" doll and Mrs. Beasley has a full cloth body but still you may not have stated a full description.

Over the years there have been quite a few "Granny/Grandma" dolls so you might keep looking and be lucky enough to spot a doll like you have.
Here is another example:
