Looks delicious. I heard that you should not put pineapple in a fruit salad. Something about it not interacting well with the other fruits. Either use canned pineapple or put the fresh in a separate bowl. Not sure if this is true or an old wives tale. Anyone?

I'm not positive but I think the caution is mostly for gelatin salads. There is an enzyme in fresh pineapple that doesn't allow the gelatin to set up properly. I have used fresh pineapple with other fruits in salads and I have never had any problems.

the enzyme is no joke. Sometimes i eat so much pineapple that it cuts up the inside of my mouth!
