Getting Hair Back to Natural Color After Dyeing?

A girl with blonde hair.I'm naturally blonde. I been dyeing my hair with box dye to a burgundy color for the last 3 years. Now I would like to go back to blonde. I'm using Oops color stripper and I'm wondering if it will work or not and if I can put blonde platinum on after.

I found a link about the Oops Color Stripper, which I've never used that particular one so I'm sorry I can't say if it works or not, but if you scroll down in the link, you'll see that "step 2" says it contains citric acid. That will weaken your hair to a good degree, so applying a color probably will result in a bit of damage.

Maybe wait at the very least a couple weeks before re-coloring, or call the 800 number on your box of new color you want to apply
as they'd be able to help you too.

I say that because years ago, a "color remover" was used on my hair, which did work well to correct the multitude of colors my hair came out after coloring it (I'm naturally blonde too) and about a week or two after new coloring was applied that looked wonderful, my hair began breaking off because it had been weakened too much by too many chemicals in a short period of time.

Space the time, as hair becomes very fragile even after just the color remover.

Try a "break test". Hold one of your hairs outward with two hands, and pull it about an inch from the bottom, not to remove it from the scalp, but rather see if you can break or pull an inch off from the bottom of that hair. If it snaps off easily, your hair is very weak and too fragile for chemicals. Some time in between the use of chemicals on your hair, will be your hairs best friend.

Going from dark to light is a two step process. The color has to be lifted off and the new color has to be deposited. This is a job for a professional.
