Getting Nails Back to Normal After Years of Biting?

Getting Nails Back to Normal After Years of Biting - closeup of handI've been biting my nails for about 10 years and now I finally realized how ugly they looked. I've managed to get both of my ring fingers back to normal but, the rest of my fingers look very wide. So, I'm wondering if there is some type of routine I can do so my nails can look normal again.

Keep up with regular manicures. It takes a few months for nails to grow out completely.

Adding Olive oil with a swab or cotton ball! The beat time to remember is after wash or shower. Olive oil is full of vitamin E. It enriches your nail and skin!

I used to be a nail bitter. My nails were fragile and now they're strong and never break. I take biotin vitamins.

The biotin is pricey, so I get not going down that path.

Are you a YouTube person? There are thousands of videos on YouTube about nail care and nail health "hacks".

There are several ways to look for things:

making my nails pretty

cures for nail biting

nail care hacks for broken nails

regrowing damaged fingernail (warning this one has a lot of really repulsive stuff--but maybe among the ick is something helpful)

Wishing you an easy solution. I still peel my nails when I get stressed so they will look good for months and then a stress will hit and they are back to looking awful :(

Buy "hard as hoofs" on Amazon it thickins up your nails so you can't bite them off. As far as the nail bed extension. It's just a waiting game. Just file them to the length of your skin. They eventually fill in. Takes about a year.

Talk to your doctor to make sure it won't interfere with anything you already take on this one...my friend swears by Bioten. She has amazing nails! I think she gets it when it is buy one get one at either Rite Aide or CVS.Not sure if it is a name brand, or their own. You can always ask the Pharmacist which one has the best reputation where you are.

You may have different brands available than we do. Most of my vitamins and supplements are the Rite Aide store brand.

You should be quite proud on breaking your habit! it is hard one to break.

Keep up the good work! Your hands look lovely!

You and I have the same problem and pretty much the same nails and im telling you, its been like that for me for 24 years. I started taking 5,000 mcgs of biotin every day for one month & I could cry. I finally feel "pretty" or more "like a lady" lol.
