Hanging Window Door Covering

Our front door has crystal clear windows. Since the windows are at eye/head level where you could look directly in, we wanted to cover it up for privacy, but also make it so that when we have guests over or want more light we could always remove it.

Before we were using a semi-clear plastic trash bag hung up with tape for a frosted look (but it was not pretty on the eyes).

Here is a great alternative and fairly inexpensive to make (or with items you already have from home which we already had except the Command strips).

Total Time: 20 minutes

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Sew pillow case opening shut.
  2. Cut 4.5" elastic (or length that works best for you) and fold over to make a loop as pictured and sew together.

  4. Honestly you only need 2 on top (top left/right) to hang this. The rest were extra. (I'm not sure what I was thinking. I thought it would sag.)
  5. Follow the Command strips installation instructions and it is time to hang your window door covering! The photos attached below show the the outside view (plain gray) while the inside has the embroidered flower detailing.
