Health Benefits of Strawberries

September 14, 2015

There's no need to remove the green tops from small, sweet strawberries, provided that you have washed your berries. If you eat the fruit whole, any flavour from the green top will be eclipsed by the sweetness of the berry.

Saves time, and you presumably get some chlorophyll from the leaf.

I'd like to know the good things and (if there are any) the bad things about eating a lot of strawberries daily?

Local Strawberries in season are like fresh multivitamins! :) Like any foods, they should be consumed in moderation but to give you an idea, 1 cup of fresh strawberries contains : Aprox. 45 calories, 144% of your daily Vitamin C requirement (based on a 2000 calorie diet), Potassium, Fiber and a few more vitamins in smaller quantities such as: Riboflavin, Copper, Magnesium, Vitamin B6, Selenium & Iron.

Enjoy! I eat them daily during the season too and usually put them in smoothies.
