Rodents can invade your home coming in through very small openings. Once inside they urinate in many areas of your home. This urine can be the cause of diseases such as those in the hantavirus family. In order to avoid exposure to rodent urine, you will need to keep them out of your home and clean very well if they have been inside.

There may be rat or mouse urine under the stove top of the range not in the oven. When I just cooked a chicken my whole house smells like rat or mouse pee and it's horrible.

Is it dangerous? I have 2 small doggies.

This is a bad situation for you. Rodent urine can transmit some pretty bad diseases, such as hantavirus. This CDC site provides a list of all the horrible things you can get from rodent urine. www.cdc.gov/.../direct.html

YOu obviously need to up your trapping efforts, and clean that stovetop as much as possible, with bleach.

Rat or mouse urine contaminates everything it touches. On the TV show Hoarders everything gets thrown out. Call an exterminator.

Also have the same problem this year. The mice have made a nice hotel under the glass flat top part where the insulation is. We ended up having to remove all of the insulation, clean it with baking soda and vinegar.

As well as the same process in the inside. Only problem is when we turn the oven on to bake, it still smells.
