Helping A Dog With Parvo?

Day 1: My dog was really sick. Throwing up all day, really lethargic, didn't wanna eat or drink but getting better by the end of the night and eating and drinking water.

Day 2: He was acting normal. Wasn't eating as much as he usually does but was eating and drinking water. That night I noticed he had some really bloody stools.

Day 3: I took him to the vet and they told me he had parvo. After I got back from the vet, he was back to not eating not drinking. Very lethargic throwing up almost every hour. I've been giving him Pedialyte through a syringe every hour or every time he gets sick. It's 5:05 am going into day 4 and it's been like this since about 10am yesterday.

My question is: Is there anything else I can do to help him improve? What can I give him for the nausea? I wanted to keep him at the vet but funds are tight. Also how long do you think this will last.

I would keep in close contact with the vet. It is not good that he keeps throwing up. Perhaps he can work out a payment plan with you.

I'm so sorry to hear that your pup has Parvo but with continuous care I hope he will recover.
There are several home remedies that have proven to be successful so hopefully some of these will work for you and your pup.

Preventing dehydration and controlling diarrhea seem to be the most important things you can do at this point.
Pedialyte and/or Gatorade - half water and half Pedialyte or Gatorade. This is to be given every HALF hour or more because they are not getting very each time you provide it. Try to give a small amounts each time so as not to make them vomit.

This is how you can tell if they need more than you are giving them:
"Trying to lift the skin above the shoulder blades or back in a tent. If the skin snaps promptly back into place, the hydration levels are fine. If it takes a while or remains lifted then the pup will need to be hydrated ASAP."

Pepto Bismol is also recommended.
one tablespoon of Pepto Bismol every four hours.

Some recommend Activated Charcoal but this needs to be done in a special way so I've provided a link to check this out.

Please read all of the suggestion and consult your vet if you have any questions.

Don't forget: lots of gentle love goes a long way but also remember they need plenty of quite rest as they will have very little strength so try to keep them calm no matter what they try to do.

You can also contact the Humane Society, in your area, to see if they can help or advise. Sometimes there is help in your local area. Through this maybe they can offer discounted or even a payment plan. This virus takes time and varies with each animal and time length of wellness.

Your fur baby will have better days and maybe some set backs can happen also. Contact as many as you can for information for self help advise. Good luck
