Homemade Bread

A baked loaf ofThis bread is very simple to make. I'm not that great at cooking, but this turned out even for me! And the best part is that it tastes wonderful! It is extreamly fluffy, and it's a nice and relaxing thing to make.

Ingredients for homemade bread.

Steps:

  1. Put 2 cups of flour, into a large bowl and add the salt, sugar, and yeast, and whisk it all together well.
  2. Dried ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Then put your milk, water, and butter into a separate bowl and microwave it for 1 minute on high. It should look like this when you take it out.
  4. Milk and melted butter in a bowl.

  5. Dump it all into the large bowl with the dry ingredients and whisk it all together really well. Add the rest of your flour 1 cup at a time and mix it up and don't be afraid to mix it with your hands. All together, you should have 5 1/2 cups of flour, and a nice dough ball.
  6. Adding the wet ingredients to the dry.

Whisking the wet and dry ingredients together.

Forming a ball of dough in the bowl.

  7. Lightly dust a cutting board with flour and knead your ball by folding it and pressing the palms of your hands into it. Do this until it bounces back when you press on it. Then put a hand towel over it and let it sit for 10 minutes
  8. A ball of kneaded bread.

    Kneading the ball of dough.

Covering the ball of dough with a towel.

  9. Your dough ball should have doubled. Now you need to cut your ball in half and use a rolling pin and roll your ball into a rectangle like in the picture. Then roll it up, grease your pan with butter, and put your roll in the pan.
  10. Cutting the ball of dough in half.

Flattened bread dough on a cutting board.

Rolling the bread dough into a loaf.

Placing the loaf in a greased bread pan.

  11. Put a hand towel over your dough and let it rise for 1 hour, then your bread will look like this. Then preheat your oven at 400 degrees F and put your bread in for 25-30 minutes.

Now for the best part, cut a slice, pile on the butter and enjoy!!!

Thanks so much for the step by step photos. It looks really easy and delicious. I have never thought of rolling the loaf up like that. I'll have to make this often in the fall.
