How to Remove a Jar Label

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 418 Posts

A clean glass jar with no label residue.I removed this jar label by holding it over the spout of my kettle of hot steaming water. Within a couple of seconds, it loosened the glue and I was able to peel the label a little at the time. It took only a few seconds to remove the whole label. Easy as pie.

I probably could have steamed the whole label at one time and peeled it off in a jiffy however, this was my first try steaming a label.

I usually remove these labels with the hair dryer. Steaming also works. Both methods leave no glue residue.
