Identifying China?

I was given this two piece set from my parents that they had for years, that was given to them as a gift. I was curious about them and tried to find where they came from. There is no other writing on them other than "made in china" on the bottom of one (nothing on the other). Anyone able to identify anything about them or where a good place to ask is?

Unless you know someone who knows Chinese and can translate the marking on the bottom, take it to a dealer who specializes in Asian goods.
