Identifying Fuzzballs That Move?

March 29, 2022

A fuzzball on a light colored background. What are these tiny little fuzzball things I'm finding all over clothing, towels, rugs, blankets everywhere! These were in the bathroom rug they look like pieces of lint or strands but when you try to pick them up with a pair of scissors they're woven into the fibers of the rug with the long stringy things that you see them moving in.

When I videoed them, you can actually see them crawl. It looks like some tiny little thing that comes out of it and moves frantically like a little tiny might of some sort. If it's in the dark the light is off in the bathroom or wherever they will come out and make that kind of crazy movement like they're weaving something or eating something. As soon as the light comes, on they stop. Is a bug, is it a mite? I know this sounds crazy.

This is a new bug to me.
If you're having an infestation of these bugs you may have to consult with a local exterminator as they are probably doing some damage all the time. A local company may provide you with a free estimate so you can decide.

Exterminators are expensive so you might want to try asking your questions on some of the 'bug' sites that deal with problems like this all the time.
You can start with one or two of these:

I keep finding weird things around the house. It seems they are also falling off of me and out of my nose. In one of the photos, you can see one coming out of my finger.

Hair mites will get in your eyelashes and your eyebrows,. Unfortunately your nose also. They are microscopic and usually go un noticed. They feed off your dead hair and skin cells.

It's almost impossible to rid them. They look like "v" shaped black threads and in larva state they look like "V" shaped tiny specks of glitter.

You should make an appointment with a doctor. Of course, a dermatologist would be best but see a doctor so they can help you identify the problem and perhaps prescribe medication for healing.
This is not a site to seek medical advice or most any other media site for that matter

Problems like this need true medical attention.
You might try talking with a pharmacist if a doctor's fees are not in your budget right now.

Hi I have the same problem and have had it for 3 years. It is horrible and doctors do not know what it is. I have been to 8 different doctors and a derm office they did a biopsy and it came back as bacteria. I have tried everything to kill it and it has taken over my body , I have lost 50% of my hair. I had to put my cat down because they attacked his face so bad and spent 1500 dollars and the vet couldn't help him. It;s all over my yard.

Family members don't want to believe it's a parasite and spreads everywhere. It looks like dust and has glittery looking stuff when its small. If you found out anything from doctors please post here. I am thinking to contact Dr. Phil show because I can't live like this. I believe it came from another country and arrived in clothing I see it everywhere now including the food and drinks we buy at the stores.
