Identifying a Houseplant?

Identifying a Houseplant - plant with long green leavesI picked this plant up at a yard sale. I was told that the name of the plant was
silver _______. They couldn't remember what came after the "silver." Each of the leaves is attached to a bulb, and it is very prolific. In the time that I have had it (a couple years), I have probably divided (or quartered) it 2 or 3 times. I've run out of people to share it with. :-)

I would sure love to hear from anyone who might know the name of this plant!

A friend calls this a Silver Lily but now I see the correct name is Silver Squill.

  • I was fascinated by the small almost green blooms but now I am reading that some have "ghost white" blooms. So there must be at least 2 different types of plants.
  • I also see that it goes by several names (but not Silver Lily). Nice that you are giving these as gifts because it appears this one would be difficult to kill so even a "brown thumb" would be able to enjoy this one.
  • It seems you are not having any trouble with care but this site has some interesting highlights.
