Identifying a Houseplant? (Schefflera)

Identifying a Houseplant - tree like houseplant This is an inherited tall houseplant or indoor tree. It has leaves, usually six, that grow from one stem and all connect to a larger trunk that is tan and coarse. It reminds me of my small umbrella plant, but I thought I would ask here.

I believe everyone will agree that your plant is a Schefflera but there are several different but similar plants.

Several different plants but very similar and mostly require the same care.
Schefflera aka Umbrella Plant, Arboricola, Amate, Actinophylla Plant

Easy plants to grow and are noted for being a very good "clean air plant".
Just from looking at your plant, I am wondering if it is getting sufficient light. You may also want to cut it back or make several plants so they will resemble a nice healthy bush. There are several very good sites that show how to prune and repot these plants.

Is this it? I always called it an umbrella bush, but it has this fancy name...schefflera amate. The one I had got ginormous and then got some awful parasite and it killed it. Sad.
