Identifying a Houseplant

Can someone please tell me what plant this is? The closest I have come to figuring it out is the purple heart, also called tradescantia pallida. It is similar, but the shape of the leaves is different and the leaves don't grow as closely together.

I have wandering jew plants and I know there are several varieties and yours looks similar, but you are right, not exact. It could just be that it is a little straggly.

I suggest putting the leaves up against a white paper and shooting a few pix, plus the stem pattern and send it to your local home extension office (if you are in the US).

Here is a finder:

It could be some kind of an ivy. You can take the picture or the plant itself to your local garden center and they can identify it for you, and give you advice about how to care for it.
