Identifying a Houseplant

I just got this small potted plant, but am not sure what its called. I would appreciate any help here.

It could be an emerald gem plant.

I googled your suggestion...it looks quite different though! :) Mine has short stems and small roundish leaves the size of a fingernail.

Hmmm...are the leaves thin-ish and when you rub them between your fingers do they smell fragrant? It looks a lot like a very pot bound basil plant.

I tried rubbing the leaves and smelling it but theres no fragrance. The leaves are a bit waxy and not too thin to the touch.

If you are outside the US, most colleges that have agriculture programs have similar groups that help people identify plants and insects.

It looks like it could be a type of Jade plant, possibly a Crassual Ovata Minima or Baby Jade. You can see what a Baby Jade looks like at www.homestratosphere.com/.../
