Janome Sewing Machine Making a Buzzing Sound?

I have a 18 yr old Janome model 4618. I've been sewing face masks quite a bit these last two weeks with the coronavirus shut down. My machine is now making a loud buzzing noise when it is running. It still sews normally. It is just loud.

I'd normally take it in for service, but with everything in my state shut down, I can not. So what can I do at home to solve this?

Try to give it a good cleaning. Probably dust is built up in the undercarriage.

Don't use an air can. Canned air can damage. Try a soft brush stroking away from the machine.

There are some good videos on YouTube to guide you!

Thanks for the reply.... I did take apart what I could and dust it well. I also added some oil. The buzzing seems to be coming from the right part of the machine, I'm guessing the motor area?

Mine did the same thing. You will need to clean the machine and add a bit of oil to the machine to get rid of this noise.

It did the trick for me.
