Light Not Working After a Small Popping Sound?

I flipped on my light switch and heard a small pop that sounded like the bulb going out. I changed the light bulbs only to realize that was not the problem. Both bulbs were still good. I checked the breaker and flipped it off and back on to make sure that was not the issue. The light still will not work. I do not know where to go from here? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

chances are the socket where the light bulb screws into has probably had the little brass piece inside the socket at the bottom burn out. Replace the socket and while you're at it check the wiring.

The light fixture itself is probably damaged and needs replaced
