I have a skunky smell in my condo. I thought it was the neighbors smoking smelly stuff, but the last couple days I have smelled it in different rooms at different times of the day. It isn't every day nor is it all over the house at the same time. It is very strange. No I am not crazy. All my windows are closed too, because I did think it was smoking.

You may have sewer gases escaping into the condo, or something may have died in the walls. Isn't there maintenance you can call?
no maintenance. the resident manager threated me with me having to pay all damages if i have mice. that i s crazy. i have written her a couple letters she keeps claiming she doesnt get them.
If your landlord's going to be like that I'd be looking for a place to move.
I have a couple of suggestions. Firstly, it could be the neighbours smoking pot, and the smell could be coming through shared walls or something like that. I am not sure that all condos are going to be perfectly air tight.
Secondly, I'd get someone in who you trust and who is sensible and who has a good sense of smell. Maybe a couple of friends. Let them smell for you; someone might be able to identify the odor. One should be able to identify the smell of decaying mice, mice urine, pot smoke, skunk smell, or some other weird smell. Also investigate the possibility that it could be sewer gas or natural gas; both of these are quite dangerous. I'd make sure I kept the windows open as much as you can.
thank you. i have 3 windows that i can get open and the smell is much worse when any of them are open. i have a friend that will come down the next time i smell it during the day. the strange thing is lately that the smell seems to be moving. it has been in my bedroom closet for a day.
Smells in condos and any location with shared walls can be a challenge. I agree with the other folks who suggest have someone else verify the smell. I say this because of a recent thing that happened to me that I was smelling this weird smell in different parts of my house and finally it happened when my husband was home and he did not smell it.

Just wanted to let you all know. It was marijuana. I emailed the resident manager and she took care of it. Every once in a while, I get a faint whiff of it. I keep track of the whiffs in my phone but Praise God it isn't here longer than a minute.
