Nest of Feathers - candy filled feather nest This nest made of feathers is beautiful and easy to put together. It makes a wonderful candy dish. I've placed my chocolate Easter eggs in mine. All you need are feathers, glue, and balloons. This is great fun for all ages!

Total Time: 1 hour and overnight dry time

Supplies:

balloons
masking tape rings or small bowls
Mod Podge
paintbrush
craft feathers
scissors

Steps:

Each nest takes one balloon. Blow up your balloons with just 1 or 2 breaths to keep them relatively small.

Place balloon on a ring of masking tape or over a small bowl and apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to the top half of the balloon.

Use a tap and swipe motion to get the feathers to stick on well.

Apply another coat of Mod Podge over the feathers and apply more feathers. Repeat process for a third layer.

Stick on a few more feathers without adding extra glue to make it look puffy. Allow to dry overnight.

The balloons will either peel away easily from the nest, or you can pop the balloon and peel the pieces off.

Trim any stubborn balloon or glue bits off.

The nests will have a beautiful smooth and silky sheen on the inside and be feathered on the outside.

Fill with candies, or whatever your heart desires! They're very sturdy.

And your video, thank you. I see what you mean about the insides, and how nice they come out. I sure do like these a lot.
