Olive Oil to Keep Gnats Out Of Your Face

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 418 Posts

A bottle and container of olive oil.In the late afternoon, when I mow grass or work outside, gnats love to get in my face. I can't stand it. I read that you can put olive oil on your face and it will keep gnats off your face.

I was working outside yesterday afternoon and gnats were bothering me. I went in the house and smeared on some olive oil and immediately went back to my work. No gnats in my face any more.

I have been using it when I mow grass and also work in the garden. It certainly won't hurt your skin and it works!

Products with DEET are so expensive, I've never bought any. If olive oil works for gnats, it might work for mosquitoes. I'm going to get a small bottle from Dollar Tree and give it a try for both.

Thanks

Mosquitoes have been bad in the garden, so I have been using insect repellent with DEET in it for my arms and legs and the oil on my face only. I hope it works for you.
