Combine first 4 ingredients and bring to a rapid boil. Let cool. Add mandarin oranges and Cool Whip and whip together with mixer. Refrigerate.

Bring 3 cups water to boil. Add puddings till dissolved. Remove from heat. Add gelatin. Stir until dissolved. Cool completely. Add oranges, drained, and Cool Whip. Chill til set.

Years ago I went to an Amish dinner and a dessert they served was made with orange jello and tapioca. It was served cold or chilled. Anyone have the recipes.
