Origami Cup and Ball Game

A traditional child's toy that can be made in a jiffy from things everyone has in the home. Any paper can be used for this, but if you have traditional origami paper, all the better.

  1. Lay the paper face down if it has a right side.
  2. Fold in half from corner to corner.
  3. Fold the right corner over to the left so that the top edge is horizontal.
  4. Repeat on the left hand side.

  6. Fold the top layer of the top corner down and tuck it inside the left hand flap.
  7. Fold the final top corner down and tuck it inside the cup.
  8. Fold flat the opposite way and pinch the sides.
  9. Turn the cup upside down and press down on the base.
  10. Pinch the 2 points and fold the down flat to make a base.

  12. Make a hole with something pointed such as a cocktail stick or kebab stick.
  13. Thread the string through and secure with a knot.
  14. Place the foil on top of the tissue paper if you are using it.
  15. Place the other end of the string in the middle of the foil and screw it into a ball.

  17. The longer you make the string the harder it is to catch the ball in the cup.
