Parvo Recovery Time?

We got an American Bulldog puppy on Thursday. By Friday we knew he had parvo. We put him outside because of the smell from all the blood and vomit. We can't afford to go to a vet, so he's not had any meds. My husband swears he hasn't been sick anymore and has brought him back inside. It is now Sunday night. He is acting better and more like a puppy now. Drinking some water and ate a few bites of food, first time since we got him. And not listening lol.. So is it safe to say he could be recovering or am I right by still worrying about him getting sick again on our camper floor?

Please, please, please talk to a vet and get them to work you payment plan or set yourself up a Go Fund Me and ask for help to pay for vet care. I get it about the expense, I really do, but if you ask for help, some vets will work with you! The Humane Society or other animal shelters may also have vets who work for low or no cost. ASK!!!

While your pup sounds like he is mending, parvo is complex and horrible and really needs to have treatment by a vet to have the best outcomes.

I know survivors and all had good vet care and the parents followed the vet advice to the letter.

Prayers for you and your pup!! Please post back with updates!! Sending up lots and lots of healing wishes!!

He probably is getting better. Nonetheless, you should see a vet. The person who sold you this dog should be responsible for the payments

You risk losing your puppy without Vet care. Parvo is so dangerous. It can and does change from day to day. You may be one of the lucky ones and your puppy is going to be able to fight it off. That is a minority. Contact your local humane society to see if there are Vets locally that will take payments.

Many Vets will work with you if you ask. Your puppy will have a harder time recovering if he is not kept warm and dry, so I suggest you keep him inside.
