Gardening is my love. I inherited the love of flowers and gardening from my dad. After years of planting impatiens I was hit with the impatien wilt and had to find another type of plant. After 2 years of experimenting and not being happy with the results I read about the new Bounce impatiens which were a hybrid created to replace the impatiens destroyed by the wilt. These are strong and grow hardy, not susceptible to the wilt disease. This is the 2nd year and they are fabulous. I have many hydrangeas which are also beautiful. I also love my roses. They are Knock Out roses and perform well. Plus my crepe myrtle which is a challenge to keep healthy in the Northeast is always beautiful. I love working in my garden. It is a labor of love. I also do a vegetable garden, but the flowers are my pride and joy.

I'm wondering if your Impatiens 'wilt' is caused by the Impatiens virus we have here in 7b. Mine were hit hard by the virus this year. Next Spring, I will look for the 'Bounce' series you mention. Thanks for that information.
You have some beautiful flowers. To the far right in the first picture appears to be a PG Hydrangea being grown as a standard. Very nice, wish I could see more of it.
The multi colored Hydrangea, the Phlox, the Salvia, the Knock Out roses, all are beautiful. I wish I had more neighbors with your love of gardening. Thanks for a very nice post.

All I have learned about the Impatien wilt is that the spores stay in the soil for several years making it impossible to replant the regular shade impatiens. Some smart Agricultural Engineers came up with this hybrid & it performs wonderfully. One plant in a 4" pot will cover the space of a 4 pack of the old variety.
