Pig Family Figurine?

A pig family figurine.Hey ThriftyFun, I have this pig figurine signed by Roy. Who is Roy? Is he prolific? Is his work sought after? How much could I possibly sell Roy's creation for? Thank you ThriftyFun.

I think this is from one of those ceramic painting places. I have seen a variety of these out there with different colors and various finishes. Roy is almost guaranteed just a guy having a fun day out and not prolific. The number is the code the firing place used so Roy got his back. Roy is irrelevant to the sale, but, pigs are super popular with collectors and this pile of hugging pigs or pig family is super fun and has great detail.

You could start at $25 and take best offer which could be as low as $1. It's a pretty good rendering that may appeal to a pig collector, which is why I suggest starting higher. Post back how your sale goes!

Your pig family is really cute so you may be able to sell it even if it is 'homemade'.
Years ago there were shops set up where someone would give classes on completing a 'mold' and it certainly looks like this came from somewhere similar.
The shop usually had a large supply of molds to choose from and the participants would choose a mold and learn how to paint it and then it would be 'fired' in a large kiln.

"Kilns have been used for millennia to turn objects made from clay into pottery, tiles and bricks."

The participants would pay for the object and a fee to use the kiln. Most people would either sign their name and anything else they desired on the bottom so that is probably how your 'Roy' came to be. Sometimes people would print the name of someone they intended to give this as a present.

Online sites like eBay are good places to list items like this and as PGHgirl stated; $25 would be a good starting price and maybe you'll be lucky and sell it quickly.

here is a good example of similar molds:

It looks like it is made of resin. From my research, these type of figurines are worth $25 or less

This piece is one of many , with the number of this particular design made and signed artist. Although cute, not very valuable, pricing under $30. - www.askart.com/price_artwork.aspx
