Re-dyeing Hair?

Yesterday the hairdresser used foils to lift the general colour of my hair (using toner instead of bleach), but the streaks are really obvious and are a mixture of blondish and ginger against my medium brown hair. How long would I need to wait to get my hair done again? It's my birthday in just under two weeks and as someone who normally loves their hair I'd prefer not to turn up with it like it is!

Hi:) I am a hair stylist. A toner can't lift your hair color. It can only correct unwanted tones. Is your hair previously colored? If not, and you have "virgin hair" she may have done it with another color and a high developer. If it isn't virgin hair her only choice would've been to use bleach (she may have called it something else like "lightener" bc people get uneasy about the word bleach, but the only way to lighten hair that already has color on it is with bleach). Either way, I would give it about a week for your hair to heal before doing another chemical service. Is the hair too light?

All you will need is a toner. Is it the right amount of light but the wrong tone/shade? You might could get by with just a toner but warm colors (think more red) appear lighter than cooler colors (think less red) so it may appear too dark for your taste is you make it cooler and may have to lighten it more to achieve the right amount of lightness and tone. Is it too dark and the wrong tone? It will have to be done all over again. Talk to your girl and explain what you're seeing and she'll probably be happy to fix it. I tell my people that I don't know if you don't like it unless you tell me! Hope this helps.
