Re-dyeing Hair?

I dyed my hair a deep burgundy mixed with a mahogany red and it came out almost black looking. It is just such a dark purple. I want my light brown hair back and I bought this platinum blonde almost white looking dye. I am not bleaching my hair it's a blonde dye. I want to know if that will get ride of this dark purple color?

No, not at all. Use a color remover instead, or to prevent too much damage have a professional do it.

Adding more 'dye' to already 'dyed' hair will not get rid of the dark purple color. A professional color remover is what you need. Clairol, Wella and L'Oreal, all make good color removers.
