No, I would not risk it. Although the salmonella might cook out, cookies are not really cooked very much so there is a good chance they might make someone sick. Salmonella can be deadly in certain situations.

You can get your money back or a replacement by taking the jar back to the store or by contacting the manufacturer directly. Here is some more information from the FDA.

That's what I was thinking but I wanted some opinions on this. Our grocery store is taking the peanut butter back and giving a refund. I have another jar that we have been eating on before there was a recall.

We have not had any problems but to be safe, I have put the rest of it in the trash.

No, I would not risk that. Get another brand.

I can see someone using a product like this if they did not know about the recall but I do not believe anyone should take the risk of having health problems when they know a product has the possibility of being bad.

Could it be safe? of course, it could be safe but who would want to play Russian Roulette with their health?

Nothing wrong with asking the question but I hope you will return it to the store and buy freshly made store-bought cookies until you feel safe buying a new product.

No...not worth the risk. Better to be safe than sorry.

No it is not ok to use it for anything. Return it to your store or throw it away. It's not worth taking a chance on getting sick.
