Survivor Benefits:

1. According to everything I have ever read about survivor benefits they are awarded to a child until they are 18 or even 19 if they still haven't graduated from high school.
2. I would suggest that you make an appointment with the Social Security office and see if you might qualify for this.
3. I don't think you'll be eligiable because of your age now and your mom not claiming this for you when you were younger.
4. The only thing you can do is check with them to find out your answer.

You will have to make an appointment with Social Security. There may be a statute of limitations for claims.

Collecting SSI survivor benefits.

Step 1
You must be under 18 or still in school to collect survivor benefits.

Step 2
If your disabled then you can collect at any age.

Step 3
It is best to double check this with someone from SSI here is a link and telephone number www.ssa.gov/.../.

Step 4
1-800-772-1213 you can get service 24 hours on the automated line.

Step 5
If you need a representative call between 7am-and 7 pm.
