Removing Dye Transfers from Clothing?

I have an orange suit with grey embroidery work. My maid soaked it and washed the kurta. What I saw was to my surprise. The grey color work has spread in onto the orange kurta. What can be done?

some people have luck with methylate spirits - rub a dry or damp garment in methylated spirits, undiluted, then rinse well in cold water, and wash as normal.

other people have had luck with diluting a 1/2 cup of laundry detergent, a 1/2 cup of Borax, some rubbing alcohol, some white vinegar, and some even add to this a bit of bleach (though it is dangerous to mix vinegar with bleach.
