Repair Help for Low Income Homeowners?

My friend and his wife are both dying. They are so wonderful. They are in desperate need of house repair. The live on one disability income. Their house is very old and has been in the family a long time. They help everyone. They helped me. I would really love to find some help fixing their house. How should I do that?
