Repairing Kitchen Tongs?

Put some mineral oil on it. Make sure the oil is food grade. I repaired a coffee percolator with a stuck lever this way. It had not been used in years.

Try a few drops of coconut or vegetable oil on a cotton swab around place where they meet. Be sure to wash the tongs before using them on food so as not to get any stray debris in your food.
