I have a Frister Rossmann Euro 10 SP sewing machine. It is 30 years old. Sometimes when I start sewing it takes a while to get going as if labouring. Yesterday I had power to the motor, but no drive to the needle mechanism. Is this the belt - although it seems to turn the pulley - if it is where can I get one?

You might need a new motor. It sounds like you don't have enough power to get the machine going at 100% potential. There must be a service center near you that would fix this machine.
Thank you, that might be the problem as nothing is moving with the case off the back.
I don't seem to be able to get the belt off to see how many teeth on it.
