Repairing a Roll Top Desk?

I have a child's roll top desk and the slats must have shrunk because they keep coming off the track? Is there any way to fix this? Do I need to buy new ones or what would you suggest?

There are some YouTube videos on how to do this. This is a sample:

You have to search by the phrase tambour repair if this one is not helpful. There are bunches out there!
