Replacing the Battery on a Swiffer Wet Jet

I can't find the battery compartment on my Swiffer Wet Jet. It doesn't look at all like the directions.

Look in the closet or wherever you keep your swifter. The battery compartment may have fallen off. On the swifter I had, you couldn't tell anything was missing.

Thank you for this answer. I was getting ready to take the thing apart and pull my hair out too. Sure enough, the battery holder was actually lying on my washing machine where somebody must have put it after finding it on the floor and not knowing what it was!

After taking out 3 screws.. . I found the batteries and compartment in closet.

Could not get the inside 2 screws back in. Oh well!! Batteries were good. Mop worked. Thank you!!

The batteries are located on the front down toward the mop. There is a button, press the button and it will open.

Requires 4 double A batteries. I could not find any place that told me where the compartment is. Certainly not in the closet. Now my Swiffer Wet Jet is ready to go.
