Scalloped Cabbage

I love cabbage in most any form, but this is exceptionally good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. cabbage, coarsely shredded
  • 2 quarts boiling water
  • Ad

  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 5 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup buttered cracker crumbs

Directions:

Cook cabbage in boiling water seasoned with salt and sugar for 4 minutes. Be careful not to overcook. Drain very well and place in buttered 2 quart flat casserole.

Make cream sauce with butter, flour and milk and pour over cabbage. Sprinkle buttered cracker crumbs on top. Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes.
