Sewing Machine Not Picking Up Bobbin Thread

I have a Brother RL425 sewing machine. The needle is not picking up thread from the lower bobbin. I have tried to adjust the needle to the correct height with the hook, but when it is low enough to catch the thread the needle hits the bottom of the bobbin setting case. (Sorry I don't know the technical terms. I hope this makes sense!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Double check that the bobbin is not in upside down. If it is, it can cause this to happen.

Something is bent out of shape. You probably need to have the machine serviced
