Singer Steam Press Won't Steam?

I have a Singer steam press table top presser. The dry iron does work, the steam does not. Any ideas how to fix that?

This part of your press has a malfunction (steam)with it working on and off. This is a sign that sooner or later the whole device will not work. Giving only half of the work accomplished .

These machines have a lot of complaints filed but occasionally it is a simple manner to get one working again.
Always try unplugging - wait a few minutes and plug back in as this will sometimes reset a machine and it will work again. This is probably not your problem.

Personally, I would Google a local Sears Service Center (with your zip code) and take it them to see if they can tell you the problem and maybe order parts if necessary. This way you'll know if it's worth the cost of repairs.
If you ask anyone else for help please be sure you have the model number.
Do you have manual? If so, does it address this problem?

No steam from my ironing press

Water level too low - Fill water tank. Controls have not been set correctly - Turn temperature control dial to steam setting. Turn Steam dial to more steam.

Also, from my experience, you can have problems with any iron or steam presser if you don't use distilled water in them. Any other water will naturally have salts and/or minerals that can clog the steam holes after much use. Distilled water won't do that. If that is the problem, you may have to either take apart the presser to clean it out, or run some CLR or similar product through the steam presser...maybe even several times...to clean it out. Pipe cleaners or even wire stuck into any clogged holes will help remove the salt/mineral deposits. Just don't steam after the cleanout on good fabric...use rags or old towels till steamer is clean.

Good luck, and post back here with your results.
