Sourdough Cinnamon Muffins

Total Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 12

Ingredients:

• 1 cup sourdough starter
• 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp baking soda
• 2 tsp ground cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 4 Tbsp butter, melted
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

1. Mix flour with baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Add melted butters, sugars, vanilla extract, egg and milk. Mix well and pour in sourdough starter and mix.

 
2. Spoon into greased muffin pan about l/2 or 2/3 full. Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 17 to 20 minutes.

1 cup sour dough starter. I should not have left out that ingredient!

Thank you! I read the recipe 3 times, and while I'm getting old, I don't think I'm THAT old! I'm not supposed to eat much bread/carbs (diabetes), but I'm looking forward to making these.

Well, I just made them and they are great, but how many eggs and how much milk? I used one egg and about 1/2 cup of milk. I checked a bunch of muffin recipes in my old reliable Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook, and there was anything from no milk to a whole cup in those recipes.
