From what I have seen on eBay, these tables go for $45 to $55 each

These are interesting. I have not seen in person any of the marquetry (inlaid) star pieces. They are different and you will be happy to know that in pristine condition, this general style has held its value.

Yours has some condition issues, which will lower the value, unfortunately.

At the moment, there are no exact matches on yours online anywhere that have sold (or unsold) so I cannot give you today's exact market value.

The best way to determine value is to find an exact SOLD match and that gives you today's value.

While these are not exact matches, it gives you an idea of what to look for and how people advertise and value:

I am thinking, if I were in the market for this pattern, I would go in the $75 to $100 range for pristine, and for yours, in the $40-$60 range, but that is a guess. Value is only what someone will actually pay.

Check back to ebay often to see if you can find an exact match. You can try using the numbers, but most people just do Mersman and side or end or night table, sometimes you will see the inlaid or the star in the title.

Let me know what you get for them!!!

One of the big problems with selling any type of furniture is the cost of shipping and that is why most small sellers will offer their pieces as "pick up only" which of course limits the selling/buying field to just within the sellers local area and this could be very limited.

Different areas mean different financial status as well as demographic trend so the type of area where the seller lives will play a big part in the value of any furniture.

  • I have found through a lot of research into Mersman furniture that numbers in the 8000 seem to be some of the earlier pieces produced as the name changed after 1906 but have found no way to prove any information concerning true dates of manufacture.
  • It is possible - in the right type of location - your tables may have 2 distinctions that could make them more valuable than the usual offered Mersman end tables.
  • One, of course, is the inlay and the second is that your tables have drawers and this Danish style end table seems to be very popular right now.
  • Of course, your tables will have to be in very good condition and hopefully they will clean up nicely with no deep scratches or water marks. You may have to do some research to find out what is the best clean-up product to use as the overall "look" in your pictures is what will make the difference in what your tables will sell for.

  • You may want to list your tables on your local Craigslist or USA4Sale as these are easy to use sites but also get a lot of local "traffic" and you can set your price high and lower it if no one shows an interest. Maybe start at $400-$450 to see what type of market you have in your area.
  • Excellent pictures (at least 6 pictures) and a good description will be necessary if you want to sell for big money.
  • This is a good example of what your pictures should look like.
