Value of Mersman Tables?

Two matching Mersman side tables.Would like to know what these are worth. I was thinking about refinishing and don't want to ruin the value. They are Mersman 7375.

These tables are around $45 each. At that low price, do whatever you want with them.

Mersman Side Tables Model 7375 are from mid century and have veneered surfaces. I see that the veneered surfaces of your tables are damaged.
A pair of Mersman Side Tables the same model 7375 with a light burn was sold for $55 www.varagesale.com/.../dwhe8e5v-vintage-end-table-mersman... picclick.com/Pr-MERSMAN-STEP-END-TABLES-Solid...

Try restore your side tables because they cost very little in such conditional as in the photo.

You will not ruin the value if you refinish them. With condition issues like your have, you would fetch under $25 each for them (as is) in most markets. If you do a fun finish--like a painting or decorative finish and have a strong following, you can probably get 3-4 times that on Etsy or at a craft fair. Check the trends for hot finishes and colors and have fun!!

One caveat is is if you are not an expert/professional refinisher and you are doing a strip/stain, you are not going to increase the value--if that makes sense. The reason is you would not get your time and money back in a simple refinish. It takes hours for this work and the most you may realize back after a simple refinish is under $100 for the pair (in most markets). These tables are (in many markets---found quite often so the supply is high and the demand is not has high which drives the prices down.

With sturdy pieces like these, the value is in the unique finishes and having a good market/client base who follows you.

These tables will last forever, so if you are doing work to keep them, enjoy!! They will last and last and serve and serve!

Post back what you decide!!
