I would like to find the value of a Yard-Man, Craftsman, Model No,123.8171. It is a vintage push mower.

There is a site out there where a gentleman was trying to find parts for the exact one you are talking about...he said he picked up at a tag sale in 2012 for $10. The link to that is below. With inflation...it might be worth $15 in today's market in the area where this guy is located.

I could not find an exact match having sold on Ebay, but that market changes daily, so you may want to check back frequently. Remember to always go by the SOLD link, not the current auctions....as people can ASK anything...value is determined by what folks will ACTUALLY pay!
When I looked at the "solds" today, here was one similar that sold for $1.50 and one that sold for $45 (both were local pickup). That fits into the info that the first link showed...which I see as yours is being worth somewhere in between. I say that with the caveat that is unless you live in an area where these are few and far between and in very high demand (a very ecologically based population wanting to reduce their carbon footprint), then you may get more.
If yours works, and is in nice shape...and you are trying to sell...if it were mine--I would start with a local ad (or tag or flea market) asking price $40 and giving the best offer option.
I hope this helps!
Look on eBay for a few weeks. You will get a good idea of what they actually sell for.
Back in 2014, it was listed for $40

All varies depending on condition and who is in the market to purchase the vintage push mower
$40??? Whats wrong with it? I just paid $49.95 to have mine gone through incl sharpening. Almost pushes itself. 1238172. Not for sale.
