Velvety Custard Pie

A holiday favorite and it's quick to make!

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups milk, scalded
  • nutmeg
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pastry shell

Directions:

Thoroughly mix eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Gradually add scalded milk. Immediately pour into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake at 475 degrees F for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to 425 degrees and bake an additional 15 minutes or until inserted knife comes out clean.
