My guess would be a "black & tan" coonhound mix. Adorable!

I think your dog has some beagle in its bloodline and is possibly a beagle/rat terrier mix. One other possibility is a beagle/treeing walker coonhound mix.

Lucky you - lucky pup!
He is really neat.
Did you adopted him from a shelter? If so they usually give some sort of 'opinion' as to the breeds - mainly so you will know how large the dog will get and also the type of personality to expect - good with children, etc.

I'm sure you will be taking him to see a vet very soon and they should give you a little information about breeds.
Most important first year shots/vaccinations should start soon as they can be the difference between life and death with young pups.

A DNA test is the only way to know for sure about the mixed breeds and they are available online, pet stores, vet and cost between $50-250. These are really good to have as it will tell about any health problems your pup could have later in life and also approximate size he will be.

he actually looks like he has Beagle in him, though not pure Beagle because the ears are not quite the same.
